[Source] This product is the dried vine stem of Clematis armandi Franch. or Clematis montana Buch.-Ham., plants of the Ranunculaceae family . Harvested in spring and autumn, peeled and sun-dried, or sliced ​​thinly while fresh and sun-dried

[Properties] This product is long cylindrical, slightly twisted, 50 to 100 cm long and 2 to 3.5 cm in diameter. The surface is yellow-brown or yellow-brown, with longitudinal grooves and ridges; the nodes are mostly swollen, with leaf marks and side branch marks. The remaining skin is easy to tear. It is hard and not easy to break. The slices are 0.2 to 0.4 cm thick, with irregular edges. The remaining bark is yellow-brown, the wood is light yellow-brown or light yellow, with yellow-white radial textures and cracks, and are covered with duct holes. The pith is smaller, off-white or yellow-brown, and occasionally has cavities.

Take another oleanolic acid reference substance and add methanol to make a solution containing 1 mg per 1 ml, which is used as the test solution. According to the thin layer chromatography method (Appendix VI B), 5 μl of each of the above two solutions were taken and spotted on the same silica gel G thin layer plate, and cyclohexane-acetone (4:1) was used as the developing solvent for development.
