[Source] Medicinal material source: The fruit of the Oleaceae plant Olea europaea.

[Original form] Square olive tree, 15-25m high. The twigs have lenticels, and the young branches are sparsely gray and pubescent. Odd-pinnate compound leaves are alternate; stipules are subulate, pubescent, and caducous; leaflets are 5-6 (-10) pairs, hard papery, oblong to obovate-lanceolate, 10-20cm long, 4.5-6cm wide, apex suddenly narrowed and acuminate, with the tip 1-1.5cm long, base rounded, oblique, often decurrent on one side, margin wavy or entire, glabrous above, pubescent beneath; veins covered with spreading stiff hairs and pubescent, but sometimes almost glabrous. Flowers are unisexual, dioecious, inflorescences are axillary, female inflorescences are unknown; male inflorescences are narrow thyrses, 30-40 cm long; flowers are about 7 mm long; calyx lobes are triangular; stamens are 6, glabrous, and filaments are more than half fused; the disk is tubular in male flowers, 1.5-1.8 mm high, with densely erect stiff hairs on the edge and outside, and annular, 3-lobed, and fringed in female flowers; the pistil is small in male flowers and densely pubescent. The drupe is green, fusiform, with 3 ribs, or obovate with 3-4 ribs, 4.5-5cm long, 1.8-2cm wide, glabrous, with an acute or truncated to concave apex, and with a persistent stigma. 1-2 seeds. Fruiting period is July to October.
