[Source] Stellaria media (L.) Cyr., a plant of the genus Stellaria in the family Caryophyllaceae, is used as medicine with its whole plant . Harvested in summer and autumn, sun-dried or used fresh.

【Nature and flavor】Sweet, sour, and cool.

【Functions and indications】 Clears away heat and detoxifies, removes blood stasis and relieves pain, and promotes lactation. It is used for enteritis, dysentery, hepatitis, appendicitis, abdominal pain due to blood stasis after childbirth, uterine contraction pain, toothache, premature graying of hair, lack of milk, mastitis, traumatic injuries, and sores and swellings.

【Usage and Dosage】 0.5～1 liang. For external use, mash the fresh grass and apply it to the affected area.

[Remarks] (1) The plant of the same genus, Stellaria diversiflora Maxim. is similar to the previous species and is distributed in Guizhou Province. It is also used as a medicine.
