[Source] Medicinal material source: The rhizome of Drynaria fortunei of the family Drynariaceae.

[Original morphology] The plant is about 20 cm tall, with long, horizontal rhizomes and densely covered with fluffy, broad-lanceolate scales with irregular serrations on the edges. Leaves are distal; petiole base has scales; leaf blade is pentagonal, about 8-14cm long and wide, three-pinnately lobed; one pair of pinnae at the base is the largest, triangular; pinnae are alternate once, one on the lower side of the base is particularly large, ovate-oblong, gradually narrowing upwards; terminal lobe is oblong, simple; venation is simple or forked, with one small vein on each tooth. The sporangium grows at the top of the veinlets, and the sporangium cover is cup-shaped. When mature, the sporangium protrudes out of the mouth, covering the top of the lobes with only the long blunt teeth on the outside exposed.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: epiphytic on mountain rocks at an altitude of 200-700m.
