[Alias] Big red shrimp (Compendium of Materia Medica).

[Source] The meat or whole body of marine shrimps such as prawns of the Penaeidae family or lobsters of the Hominidae family.

[Original form] ① Prawn (Compendium of Materia Medica), also known as: Ning shrimp (Yue Zhi), prawn.

[Chemical composition] Every 100 grams of the edible part of the shrimp contains 77 grams of water, 20.6 grams of protein, 0.7 grams of fat, 0.2 grams of carbohydrates, 1.5 grams of ash, 35 milligrams of calcium, 150 milligrams of phosphorus, 0.1 milligram of iron, 360 international units of vitamin A, 0.01 milligrams of thiamine, 0.11 milligrams of riboflavin, and 1.7 milligrams of niacin. Body muscles contain tropomyosin and paramyosin. The reason why shrimps turn brown is because they contain tyrosinase. If tyrosine is reduced with sodium sulfite, it will not be affected by this enzyme and will not turn brown.

【Nature and flavor】 Sweet, salty, warm.

【Meridian】 "Compendium of Materia Medica" states that "it enters the Taiyin, Shaoyin and Jueyin meridians of the hands and feet."

【Functions and indications】Nourishes the kidney and strengthens yang, stimulates appetite and resolves phlegm.

【Usage and Dosage】 For internal use: cook or soak in wine. For external use: mash and apply.

[Additional prescription] ① Pu Shen Xing Yang: Prawns, soaked in shochu. (Supplement to Gangmu)
