[Source] Medicinal material source: The pseudobulb of the orchid plant Cymbidium orchidaceae.

[Original form] Orchidaceae, a perennial epiphytic herb. The pseudobulb is oblate, several of them are connected, growing on a slender rhizome, light yellow when dry, slightly transparent, with 1-2 circles of rings, covered with sparse fibers, and with one leaf at the end. The leaves are narrowly elliptic or oblong-lanceolate, 3-15cm long, 2.5cm wide, with an acute tip and a base narrowed into a short petiole. Flowers grow terminally on pseudobulbs, up to 50 cm long, and covered by three tubular sheaths; racemes with many flowers, small bracteoles; flowers yellow-brown, perianth open; sepals nearly equal in size, middle sepal narrowly oblong, about 8 mm long, lateral sepals sickle-oblong; petals slightly shorter and narrower than sepals; lip 3-lobed, lateral lobes nearly triangular, middle lobe nearly kidney-shaped; column slender, enlarged at base.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing under valley shrubs or mixed forests at an altitude of 3000-3600m.

【Nature and flavor】 Sweet; slightly spicy; cold

【Functions and indications】 Clears away heat and detoxifies. Mainly used for carbuncle, furuncle, scrofula, snake bites, insect bites

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decocted in water, 3-9g. For external use: take appropriate amount and mash it for application.
