[Source] Medicinal material source: The leaves of Ramie densiflora of the Urticaceae family.

[Original form] Upright shrub, 1.5-4.5m high. Branchlets densely covered with short procumbent hairs, nearly square, with shallow longitudinal grooves. Leaves are opposite; petioles are 0.6-2.5cm long, stipules are awl-shaped; leaf blades are thick papery, lanceolate or linear-lanceolate, 5-19cm long, 1.2-3.5cm wide, with long acuminate or caudal tips, obtuse, rounded or inconspicuously cordate bases, with small blunt teeth on the margins from the base up, and slightly dense short procumbent hairs on the surface. The spike inflorescence is usually dioecious, sometimes the female ones on the upper branches are solitary in the leaf axils, with the female spike inflorescence 4-12 cm long; the ones below are male, often 2 axillary. The male flower has 4 tepals, fused at the lower part, and 4 stamens. The tepals of female flowers are fusiform or oblanceolate, gradually narrowed at the apex, shorter, 1-1.5mm long, with a stigma up to 1mm long, and achenes surrounded by wings. Flowering period is from July to October.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown in forests, thickets or stream sides in hills and valleys.

【Functions and indications】 Dispel wind and relieve itching; reduce swelling. Mainly used for skin itching; trauma

【Usage and Dosage】 For external use: take appropriate amount, decoct in water for washing; or mash and apply on the affected area.
