[Original form] Large-leaf white paper fan, upright or vine-like shrub, 1.3-2m high. Branchlets rounded, pubescent. Leaves are opposite; petioles are 1-3.5cm long and hairy; stipules are ovate-lanceolate, 8-10mm long, and often 2-lobed at the apex; leaf blades are broadly ovate or broadly elliptic, 10-25cm long, 5-12cm wide, with acuminate apex, cuneate base, sparsely pubescent on veins on both sides, and about 9 pairs of lateral veins. Leaves are membranous or thinly papery. The inflorescence is terminal; the bracts are stipule-shaped, about 8mm long; the flowers are 5-somere, with pedicels; the calyx tube is turbinate, about 4mm long, the lobes are lanceolate, up to 1cm long, 2-2.5mm wide, covered with short soft hairs, one of which is enlarged into a leaf-like, obovate, 3-4cm long, 1.5-2cm wide, and white; the corolla is yellow, about 1.4cm long, the lobes are ovate, about 2mm long, with dirty yellow powdery hairs inside; the stamens are attached to the middle of the corolla tube; the ovary is inferior, 2-chambered, and the stigma is flattened and 2-lobed. The berries are nearly spherical, about 1 cm in diameter. The flowering period is June and the fruiting period is September.
