The leaves are opposite, obovate or oblong, deeply pinnately lobed, irregularly, with large irregular serrations on the edges of the lobes, the teeth slightly convex into glands, green on the upper side and light green on the lower side, all covered with soft hairs. The basal leaves are petiolate and gradually become almost sessile. The flowers are small, white, in sparse dichasing cymes (sometimes trichasing cymes); there are 4 bracts, green, with glandular hairs, purple-red at the tip; the epicalyx is sac-shaped, with 8 ribs, light green, and 8 small sharp teeth; the calyx is small, light green, and has 5 small sharp teeth; the corolla is white or slightly purple-red, funnel-shaped, with 5 lobes, and is hairy inside and outside; there are 4 stamens, the lower part is adnate to the corolla tube; there is 1 pistil, and the stigma is capitate. Achenes have short beaks and are enclosed in sac-like epicalyx. Flowering period is August.

[Habitat distribution] It grows in the semi-shade under the forest on the hillside, in the forest, on the roadside or on the grass slope beside the forest. Distributed in Sichuan and Yunnan. Produced in Sichuan.
