[Original morphology] Asarum pubescens is a perennial herb with densely covered white long hairs (turning brown after drying). The rhizome can be up to 50cm long, ascending obliquely or running horizontally, and the aboveground stem is 3-7cm long. Leaves are opposite, 1-2 pairs; petiole is 10-22cm long, with long soft hairs; bud leaf is ovate, with dense soft hairs on the back and edges; leaf blade is ovate-cordate or broadly ovate, 5-8cm long, 5-9.5cm wide, with acute or acuminate apex, cordate base, and densely soft hairs on both sides. The flowers are purple-green; the pedicels are 1-2.5cm long and hairy; the petals are ovate, covered with soft hairs on the outside, purple, yellow-white at the tip, and reflexed at the top; the stamens are nearly as long as the styles, the filaments are about twice as long as the anthers, and the connective is short-ligulate; the ovary is semi-inferior and covered with soft hairs; the styles are fused, with 6 radiating lobes at the tip, and the stigma is terminal. The fruit is nearly spherical, about 1.5 cm in diameter. Flowering period is April-May.
