[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of Poaceae.

[Original form] Blunt-leaved grass, perennial herb. The lower part of the stalk is creeping, and roots take root at the nodes and grow into upright flower branches 10-40cm high. The leaf sheath is loose, usually longer than the internodes, with a flattened surface with ridges on the back, often only covering the lower part of the internode, smooth and glabrous; the ligule is very short, with white short cilia at the tip; the leaf blade is ribbon-shaped, 5-17cm long, 5-11mm wide, slightly obtuse at the tip, with a short tip, truncated or nearly rounded base, glabrous on both sides, and rough edges. The inflorescence axis is flat and leaf-like, with wings 10-15cm long, 3-5mm wide, and slightly rough on the edges; the spike inflorescence is embedded in the depression of the main axis, 7-18mm long, the spikelet axis is triangular, with slightly rough edges, and the apex extends above the terminal spikelet to form a small point; the spikelets are alternate, ovate-lanceolate, 4-4.5mm long, containing 2 florets, but only the second floret is fruitful; the glume apex is pointed, with small transverse veins between veins, the first glume is broadly ovate, 1/2-2/3 the length of the spikelet, with (3-)5-7 veins, the second glume is the same length as the spikelet, with 9-11 veins; the first floret is male; the first lemma is the same length as the spikelet, with 7 veins, the palea is thickly membranous, slightly shorter than the lemma, with 2 veins, the second lemma is leathery, with a small point covered with fine hairs, and the margin wraps around the palea. Flowering and fruiting season is autumn.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown in moist grassland, forest edge or sparse forest below about 1100m above sea level
