[Original form] Annual herb, 33 to 48 cm tall. There are two roots growing side by side, slightly fleshy; spindle-shaped, about 1.5 cm long. There are 2 to 3 leaves, lanceolate to oblong, 12 to 18 cm long, 4 to 6 cm wide, with long and gradually pointed tips, obtuse and broadly cuneate bases, clasping the stem, glabrous on both sides; there are 10 to 15 parallel veins, convex on both sides. The spike inflorescence is terminal, 9 to 13 cm long, with 3 to 5 lanceolate bracts that are reflexed downwards underneath. The flowers are arranged sparsely, with one reflexed ovate-lanceolate bract under each flower; the flowers are pink, and the lip is erect and helmet-shaped. The capsule is oval and contains many seeds.
