[Original form] Herbaceous, about 13cm high. The stem is erect or creeping, with roots at each node, nearly fleshy, densely covered with long coarse hairs, and quadrangular. Leaves are opposite; petiole is about 6cm long, densely covered with long coarse hairs; leaf blade is papery or nearly membranous, broadly ovate, broadly elliptical or round, with acute apex, sometimes slightly concave, base cordate, about 10cm long, about 7cm wide, with inconspicuous fine and shallow wavy teeth and cilia on the edge, green on both sides or sometimes purple-red on the back, and on the back of the leaf, in addition to the flat long coarse hairs, there are also short prickles on the basal vein and lateral veins. Umbel is terminal, with peduncle 4-15cm long; bracts are obovate or nearly oblanceolate; pedicel is about 5mm long; calyx is funnel-shaped, quadrangular, sometimes covered with sparse long prickles; petals are pink to purple, broadly obovate; stamen filaments are nearly equal in length, 8-10mm long; ovary is annular, with a crown at the tip. Capsule circular, crown 4-lobed at apex, persistent calyx with 8 longitudinal ribs. The flowering period is from May to August, and the fruiting period is from August to October.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown in valleys and hillsides at an altitude of 300-1400m, in shady and moist places under forests and beside water.
