[Alias] Flower beetle, flower shell insect [Source] This product is the dried body of the southern big cantharid Mylabris phalerata Pallas or the yellow and black small cantharid Mylabris cichorii Linnaeus, both of the Meloidae family. Catch in summer and autumn, suffocate or scald to death, and dry in the sun. [Properties] Southern giant blister beetle: oblong, 1.5-2.5cm long, 0.5-1cm wide. The head and mouthparts hang downward, with a pair of large compound eyes and antennae, most of which have fallen off. The back has a pair of leathery elytra, which are black with three yellow or brownish-yellow horizontal stripes; there are two tan, filmy, transparent inner wings under the elytra. The chest and abdomen are black, and there are three pairs of legs on the chest. There is a special odor. [Identification] Take 3g of the powder of this product, add 20ml of chloroform, shake, soak for 2 hours, filter, evaporate the filtrate to dryness, wash the residue with petroleum ether (30-60℃) 3 times, 5ml each time, carefully pour off the supernatant, add 1ml of chloroform to the residue to dissolve it, and use it as the test solution. Take another cantharidin reference substance and add chloroform to make a solution containing 5 mg per 1 ml as the reference substance solution. According to the thin layer chromatography method (Appendix Ⅵ B), 5 μl of each of the above two solutions were taken and spotted on the same silica gel G thin layer plate, and chloroform-acetone (98:2) was used as the developing solvent. The plate was developed, taken out, dried, sprayed with 0.1% bromocresol green ethanol solution, and heated until the spots were clearly colored. In the test sample chromatogram, a spot of the same color appears at the corresponding position in the reference sample chromatogram. 【Content determination】 Determined by gas chromatography (Appendix Ⅵ E). It is used for lumps caused by paralysis, long-standing stubborn tinea, scrofula, warts, carbuncles that do not ulcerate, and dead skin cells of malignant ulcers. [Usage and Dosage] 0.03-0.06g, mostly made into pills or powders after processing.
