[Original morphology] An erect, branched, shrub-like herb. The stem is cylindrical, and the upper part is nearly quadrangular. Leaves are opposite; petiole is 2-7 (-10) mm long, slightly sturdy; leaf blade is leathery, lanceolate, 4-10 cm long, 2-2.5 cm wide, acuminate or long-acute at apex, cuneate or slightly decurrent at base, with 2-3 pairs of lateral veins, smooth and glabrous on both sides. The cymes are trifurcated and arranged in panicles, terminal or in the upper leaf axils; bracts are lanceolate; the flowers in the center of the inflorescence are sessile, and those on both sides have short stalks; the calyx is turbinate, 3mm long, and the lobes are ovate-triangular, the same length as the calyx; the corolla is white or lavender, funnel-shaped, 6-10mm long, and the lobes are lanceolate, 2-2.5mm long; the stamens are protruding. Capsule elliptic and long, 4mm, with persistent calyx lobes, bivalve.

They are 4-10 cm long, with short or long pointed tips and cuneate bases. Stipules are ovate-triangular, 2-3 mm long. Petioles are 2-10 mm long. The cyme is trifurcated and branched, terminal or in the upper leaf axils, with lanceolate bracts, turbinate calyx, 3mm long, and ovate-triangular lobes; the corolla is funnel-shaped, off-white or lavender, 6-10mm long, and the lobes are lanceolate. The capsule is oval, 4mm long, mostly split into two lobes, with a persistent calyx. Slight odor, light taste.
