[Source] It is the whole herb of Oxytropis gansuensis, a plant of the Leguminosae family . Harvest in July and August, cut into sections and dry in the sun.

[Original form] Perennial herb, 15 to 20 cm high. The base is branched and sparsely covered with white long hairs, occasionally with black short hairs. Odd-pinnate compound leaves, 5-10 cm long; leaf axis with grooves on upper surface, densely covered with white and black long soft hairs; stipules ovate-lanceolate, fused at base, separated from petiole; leaflets 13-25, ovate-rectangular to lanceolate, 8-13 mm long, 4-6 mm wide, acuminate at apex, rounded at base, densely covered with long soft hairs on both sides. The raceme is nearly capitate and axillary; the peduncle is 5.5 to 15 cm long, with long white and black hairs; the calyx is bell-shaped, about 9 mm long and 3 mm wide, densely covered with black and white long hairs, the calyx is tooth-shaped and nearly as long as the tube; the corolla is yellow, about 12 mm long. The pods are oblong or oblong-ovate, 8 to 12 mm long, swollen, and densely covered with long black hairs.

[Habitat distribution] Grown in dry grasslands, hillsides, river banks or under forests. Distributed in Gansu, Qinghai, Sichuan, Yunnan and other places.
