[Source] Medicinal material source: The galled fruit of Quercus brachypedatifolia of the Fagaceae family.

[Original form] Deciduous tree, up to 10m high, or shrub-like. Young branches are sparsely pubescent, which gradually fall off. Leaves are alternate; petioles are 2-4mm long and glabrous; leaf blades are leathery, growing at the top of branches, oblong-obovate or obovate-lanceolate, 5-10cm long, 2-4cm wide, with acute or acuminate apex, narrow rounded base, with incurved shallow glandular teeth, with silky hairs when young, glabrous in old leaves, with 7-12 pairs of lateral veins reaching the tooth tips, with glands at the tooth tips. Flowers are monoecious; male inflorescences are 5-6cm long, with axis and perianth covered with sparse hairs; female inflorescences are less than 1cm long. The cup is cup-shaped, covering about 1/3 of the nut, with ovate-triangular bracts extending out at the mouth, with soft hairs on the edges, 1-1.2 cm in diameter and about 8 mm high; the nut is ovate-elliptical, 0.8-1.2 cm in diameter, 1.2-1.8 cm high, with soft hairs at the tip, a short column and a slightly raised navel. The flowering period is April and the fruiting period is October.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in mountain mixed woods at an altitude of 60-2000m.

【Functions and indications】 Strengthens the spleen and stomach; promotes diuresis; detoxifies. Mainly for stomachache and difficult urination

【Usage and Dosage】 For oral administration: 3-5 pieces, grind into powder and drink with water.
