The flowers are bisexual, solitary in leaf axils, yellow, sessile, with 2 bracts at the base; the calyx tube is fused to the ovary, with 4 sepals, ovate-lanceolate, 2.5-3mm long, and slightly pubescent on the outside; there are 4 petals, slightly shorter than the calyx lobes; there are 4 stamens; the ovary is inferior, the style is short, and the stigma is simple and capitate. The capsule is linear and square, slightly 4-sided, 1-4 cm long, about 1.5 mm wide, slightly purple, and cracks irregularly on the back of the chamber when mature; the seeds are numerous, small, smooth, and brown-yellow. The flowering period is July-August, and the fruiting period is September-October.
