[Source] Medicinal material source: The rhizome of Begonia longipes, a plant of the Begoniaceae family.

[Original form] Perennial herb, 20-27cm high. The rhizome is long and oblique, with dense fibrous roots. Leaves are basal, 3-4 pieces; petioles are up to 25cm long and covered with brown long soft hairs; leaf blades are papery, broadly ovate, 4-8cm long, 3-7cm wide, acuminate at the apex, obliquely cordate at the base, sparsely covered with setae above, pubescent on the veins below, slightly lobed at the margins, with triangular lobes, acuminate heads, and irregular sharp teeth on the margins. Inflorescence: cymes, peduncles growing from rhizomes, glabrous, nearly as long as leaves; flowers pink, male and female tepals 4 each. The capsule is nearly round, slightly covered with brown long soft hairs, with 3 wings, one of which is particularly large, about 2 cm long, 0.5-0.9 cm wide and blunt at the end.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown on rocks in the shade and wet places of dense forests at an altitude of 600-1000m.

【Functions and indications】Disperse blood stasis; stop bleeding; detoxify. Mainly used for injuries from falls; pain in tendons and bones; metrorrhagia; snake bites

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decocted in water, 9-15g. For external use: take appropriate amount and mash fresh product for application.
