The traditional Chinese medicine Pinellia can be used to treat some diseases. Many people can take Pinellia when they feel they often have symptoms such as nausea and vomiting. The effect will be better. It can also be used when you have a cough or a cold. However, try not to use it indiscriminately at home, otherwise it will cause side effects in your body and lead to some toxicity. 3. Toxicity: The LD50 of subcutaneous injection of Pinellia protein in mice is 175 mg/kg. There were no above-mentioned reactions in raw pinellia, its suspension after bleaching, soaking in ginger and steaming, and its decoction. In terms of acute toxicity to mice, the suspension of raw pinellia had the greatest toxicity, followed by bleaching, soaking in ginger and steaming, and the toxicity of soaking in alum and decoction decreased in turn. Therefore, the antiemetic and antitussive components of pinellia can be dissolved in hot water, while the toxic components that stimulate the throat, cause aphonia and vomiting are difficult to dissolve in water and cannot be destroyed by steaming, bleaching or soaking in ginger, but can be detoxified by soaking in alum. Raw Pinellia powder (suspension) 0.5g/kg gavage for 3 consecutive days can promote gastrointestinal motility in mice, inhibit the secretion of PGE2 in gastric juice of rats, inhibit the activity of gastric protease, and cause greater damage to the gastric mucosa 4. Pinellia ternata prepared with ginger alum and Pinellia ternata cooked with ginger inhibited gastrointestinal motility in mice, but had no significant effect on the PGE2 content and pepsin activity in rat gastric juice, indicating that the two methods of preparing Pinellia ternata with ginger can eliminate the damaging effects of raw Pinellia ternata on the gastrointestinal mucosa. Intraperitoneal injection of 10g/kg of raw pinellia, ginger pinellia, and French pinellia for 10 consecutive days is toxic to mouse embryos and has teratogenic effects. 5. The toxicity test of Pinellia ternata on pregnancy and embryos of rats showed that 9g/kgig of raw Pinellia ternata powder had very significant toxicity to pregnant rats and embryos, while the same dose of processed Pinellia ternata powder had no significant difference from the control group. However, 30g/kg of processed Pinellia ternata decoction (equivalent to 150 times the commonly used clinical dose) could cause vaginal bleeding in pregnant rats, increase the number of early embryonic deaths, and significantly reduce fetal weight. The toxicity of raw Banxia decoction 30g/kg on pregnancy and embryo in rats is no different from that of processed Banxia decoction 6. It indicates that the ingredients that are toxic to pregnancy and embryo will not be reduced due to processing. A dose of 30g/kg of ginger and pinellia can induce a slight increase in sister chromosome exchange (SCE) in the bone marrow cells of pregnant mice, while doses of 15g/kg and 9g/kg have no effect, indicating that high doses (equivalent to 100 times the clinical dose) may have a certain damaging effect on DNA. The three doses had no effect on the SCE rate of fetal mouse hepatocytes, indicating that the placenta may have a barrier effect on Pinellia ternata. |
