Mr. Gao was riding a motorcycle on the road when a kite string appeared out of nowhere and almost cut his throat.

From the driving video, we can see that he slammed on the brakes after discovering the kite string, and the kite string was picked up from the front windshield of the motorcycle and scratched across his helmet. Mr. Gao said: Fortunately, I was wearing a helmet and the speed was not fast, so I was lucky enough to escape.

April 2, Changchun, Jilin. A boy was injured when a kite string strangled his neck while riding a scooter in the park. His mother, Ms. Chen, said that fortunately the child was not riding the scooter very fast, and the kite string strangled the boy's neck before the kite was launched, leaving a long wound, but fortunately the wound was not deep.

Case 2

March 15, Changsha, Hunan. A man was riding a bicycle when he ran into a kite string. He failed to avoid it in time and was cut, leaving a long wound on his neck.

Case 3

On February 23, in Haikou, Hainan, a little child was scratched by a kite string while playing in the park with his mother. The long cut on the back of his neck was heartbreaking.

Why is kite string so powerful?

The kite strings sold on the market are mostly made of acrylic and polypropylene, with a diameter of only about 0.2 mm, but they have great tensile strength. In other words, if the human body is running at high speed and collides with the tough kite string, the kite string will be like a sharp knife, which can cut the skin at best and endanger life at worst.

As kites get bigger, the material of the kite string becomes more resilient. When the wind speed exceeds level 4, the kite string will be tightened, and the tension will reach 50 kg. When the wind speed increases, the tension may even exceed 100 kg. Such a large tension, if it cuts someone, it is very likely to cause death.

In order to test the power of the kite line, firefighters will conduct an experiment to verify the truth. The experimental props are bananas, cucumbers, and pork belly.

The firefighter held the banana and drew it across the kite string, and the banana was cut in half in an instant.

Even if you choose a slightly harder cucumber, it still cannot withstand the cutting of the kite string. The cucumber breaks without much force.

Pork belly is similar to human skin, and kite string is just as good for cutting pork belly.
