[Original form] Konjac konjac is a climbing vine. The branches have longitudinal ridges, often covered with micro-hard hairs, and the leaves are alternate; the petiole is 1-2cm long; the leaf blade is papery, ovate-lanceolate or narrowly elliptic, 5-14cm long, 2-5cm wide, slightly unequal at the base, with micro-hard hairs on the underside, and 7 veins, the uppermost pair of which is 1-1.5cm away from the base and emanates from the midrib, and the remaining 5 are basal. The flowers are unisexual and dioecious, without perianth, and gathered into spikes opposite the leaves; the male inflorescence is usually longer than the leaves, up to twice the length of the leaf blade, the peduncle is 2.5-3 times the length of the petiole, the male bracts are round, nearly sessile, 1-1.2mm in diameter, with 3 stamens, and anthers reniform, slightly shorter than the filaments; the female inflorescence is 1.5-3cm long, extending to 6cm during the fruiting period, the petiole of the female bracts does not extend during the fruiting period, but is only sparsely hairy, the ovary is free, and the stigmas are 3-4, linear. The berry has a conical tip when young and is nearly spherical when mature, about 3mm in diameter, with wart-like protrusions. Flowering period is from February to June.
