Honey coltsfoot flower efficacy and function

Honey coltsfoot flower efficacy and function

Many people do not know what kind of plant honey coltsfoot is, but I believe everyone is familiar with winter dandelion. In fact, honey coltsfoot is another name for winter dandelion. As the name suggests, winter dandelion refers to a bud similar to a dandelion flower that grows in winter. Dandelion has extremely high medicinal value. So what specific effects and functions does honey dandelion have on the human body?

Coltsfoot is the first to grow as soon as spring arrives. Even though it is covered with ice and snow, it will still sprout and grow. People collect it in spring to replace vegetables, and it tastes delicious. Interestingly, the ancients had a special method of using coltsfoot flowers to relieve coughs - burning incense to relieve coughs. This method first appeared in the Song Dynasty. However, as medicine becomes more and more advanced, this rather troublesome method of treatment has gradually been eliminated. Coltsfoot, also known as winter flower, is the flower bud of the herbaceous plant coltsfoot of the Asteraceae family. The flower buds are usually dug out from late October to December before the flowers emerge from the ground. It is pungent and warm in nature, and can relieve cough, eliminate phlegm and relieve asthma. When treating cough, asthma or chronic cough, it is often used in combination with Aster ternata, which can eliminate phlegm and relieve gas. Because it is warm in nature, it is suitable for cough caused by cold.
