[Other names] Dahunhun, Diaoqihunhun, Mountain loquat

[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of Gesneriaceae plant Gesneriaceae.

[Original morphology] Net-veined spiral lettuce, a perennial stemless herb. The rhizome is thick and 1.5-2.5cm long. Leaves are basal; leaf blades are oblong or narrowly oblong, 7-14cm long, 1.2-4.5cm wide, with pointed apex and base gradually extending downward to form a petiole. The margins have irregular sparse serrations, covered with cottony hairs or nearly hairless on the upper side, and densely covered with brown felt hairs on the lower side. There are 5-6 pairs of lateral veins, and the veinlets are reticular. Inflorescences 3-5, emerging from leaf filaments, each with many flowers; peduncle 14-17cm long; bracts 2, about 1cm long, covered with white wool; calyx 5-lobed, lobes linear-lanceolate, covered with white wool outside; corolla lavender, 1.2-1.5cm long, about 1cm in diameter, rim bilipped, upper lip 2-lobed, lobes oval, lower lip 3-lobed, lobes equal; stamens 2, filaments attached near base of corolla, 3 reduced stamens; ovary narrowly oblong, about 6mm long, style curved at upper part, stigma 1, capitate. Capsule linear oblong, 2-3cm long. The flowering period is April, and the fruiting period is May-June.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in rocky mountain forests or on rocks near forests at an altitude of 1100-1800m.
