The cymose panicles grow at the lower part of the branches of the current year, and are nearly as long as the leaves; the flowers are bisexual; the pedicels are slender, 8-13mm long; the serrated petals are 6, ovate-lanceolate or narrowly lanceolate, about 6mm long, and obtuse at the apex; the fertile stamens are 9, glabrous, with 4 anthers, and the anthers of the third whorl of stamens are outward-lobed; the reduced stamens are about 1.5mm long; the ovary is nearly glabrous, nearly spherical, the style is longer than the ovary, and the stigma is small and capitate. The fruit is spherical, 1-1.3 cm in diameter, and black when ripe. The flowering period is April-May, and the fruiting period is July. [Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown in hillside thickets or valley forests with moist and fertile soil.
