【Alias】 White horsetail

[Source] This product is Cynanchum atratum Bge, a plant of the Asclepiadaceae family. Or Cynanchum versicolor Bge. Dried roots and rhizomes . Dig up in spring and autumn, wash and dry.

[Properties] The rhizome of this product is short and thick, with tubercles and is mostly curved. There are round stem scars on the top, and many slender roots clustered below and on both sides. The roots are 10 to 25 cm long and 0.1 to 0.2 cm in diameter. The surface is brown-yellow. It is brittle and easy to break. The bark is yellow-white in cross section, and the wood is yellow. It has a faint smell and a slightly bitter taste.
