There are many common plants, and each plant has its own characteristics and functions. Therefore, when choosing plants, you must understand all aspects of the plants so that you can use them with confidence. Hops is a kind of herb. Hops has many functions. When choosing it, you cannot use it casually, as this will not do any good to your health. Many people don't quite understand the role of hops, so when choosing hops, you need to have a comprehensive understanding of it. Hops have a wide range of uses, so you can't choose and use them casually. The role of hops: ① Antibacterial effect: Hops extract, lupulone and humulone can inhibit the growth of Gram-positive bacteria in test tubes, such as Bacillus anthracis, Bacillus cereus, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Pneumococcus, Staphylococcus aureus, etc.; they have no inhibitory effect on Gram-negative bacteria, but can also inhibit tuberculosis. The inhibitory effect on pathogenic and non-pathogenic fungi and actinomycetes is very weak or ineffective. The inhibitory effect of lupulone on Gram-positive bacteria and tuberculosis is stronger than that of humulone. The residue after removing lupulone and humulone from the hop extract still has antibacterial effect. Lupulone has good fat solubility and a large distribution coefficient. It can easily enter the wax membrane of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and play a special affinity role. In test tube, its inhibitory effect on Mycobacterium tuberculosis has no synergistic effect with streptomycin. Penicillin can slightly enhance its inhibition on Staphylococcus aureus, and erythromycin can enhance it by 4 times. After being placed at room temperature for 10 days, the antibacterial effect decreased by about 4 times. The effect was stronger at pH 5-6 than at pH 7-8. It was reported that 10% horse serum and human serum in test tubes did not affect the inhibitory effect of lupulone on tuberculosis, but other experiments proved that the presence of serum significantly reduced its effectiveness. In the presence of horse serum, the inhibitory effect of lupulone on Mycobacterium phlei and Staphylococcus aureus was also weakened. This effect is related to the phospholipids contained in the serum. Lupulone has no therapeutic effect on mice infected with Streptococcus pyogenes, but it is effective for experimental tuberculosis in mice whether taken orally or injected intramuscularly, but many reports deny this effect, while it is considered effective clinically. The oxidation of lupulone to hexahydrolupulone can remain unchanged at room temperature for several months. It has an inhibitory effect on Staphylococcus aureus and those that have developed resistance to antibiotics in vitro. Penicillin and erythromycin can enhance its effect, while serum can cancel its effect. ② Sedative effect: Foreign people use hops for hysteria, restlessness, and insomnia. Hops extract has a small sedative effect on the central nervous system, a medium dose of hypnosis, and a large dose of paralysis. Lupulone and humulone have a sedative effect. It is also said that this effect is due to the isovaleric acid it contains. ③ Estrogen-like effect: Most women who collect Humulus lupulus will have their menstruation 2 to 3 days after contact with it, and their dysmenorrhea can be relieved. The β-acid in the resin has a strong estrogen-like effect, with 15,000 units per gram (determined by the uterine weighing method, each unit is equivalent to 0.1 micrograms of courtship hormone), while the α-acid part has no effect. ④Other effects: Adding hops when brewing beer not only has the flavor of its volatile oil, but also has a preservative effect. The ethanol extract of Humulus lupulus has a strong antispasmodic effect on the isolated rabbit jejunum, guinea pig duodenum, and rat uterine smooth muscle, and can antagonize the spasmogenic effect of acetylcholine and barium chloride. Its antispasmodic effect is directly to relax the smooth muscle. Hops extract and volatile sleeves have a mild and transient hypotensive effect on dogs (intravenous injection), but have no preventive and therapeutic effect on carrageenan-induced plantar edema in rats. Intravenous injection of lupulone can enhance respiration. The above is an introduction to the effects of hops. When using it, you can use it according to the above needs. It is also very helpful in treating diseases. However, it cannot be used directly. Its usage method is also relatively special. At the same time, it also needs to be used in combination with other plants. |
