Among Chinese medicinal materials, Cordyceps sinensis, as the name suggests, is a kind of medicinal material that grows in the north. This medicinal material has a very nice name called Immortal Grass. These herbs are all precious Chinese herbal medicines. This type of medicinal material contains dozens of elements necessary for our human body, which shows the benefits of Cordyceps sinensis. Therefore, Cordyceps sinensis is regarded as a top-grade treasure among health products, which shows its status. As things are scarce and valuable, the price of Cordyceps sinensis has gradually been raised to a new level. Artificial cultivation of Cordyceps has now appeared, but the cultivated Cordyceps cannot be completely equivalent to the efficacy of Cordyceps sinensis. Let’s learn about Cordyceps sinensis through this article. Cordyceps militaris is the abbreviation of northern cordyceps, also known as Cordyceps militaris or pupa grass, which is mainly distributed in Jilin, Hebei, Shaanxi and other provinces in my country. Its main chemical components, pharmacology and efficacy are very similar to those of wild Cordyceps sinensis. Tests by authoritative departments such as the Drug Research and Analysis Laboratory of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and the Physical and Chemical Testing Center of the Shenyang Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences have shown that some of the main nutrients and medicinal ingredients of Cordyceps militaris, such as cordycepin, cordyceps polysaccharides, and protein, are even higher than those of Cordyceps sinensis. The National Compilation of Chinese Herbal Medicines records: "The fruiting body and insect body of Cordyceps militaris can be used as Cordyceps sinensis medicine." Therefore, the pharmacological functions and clinical effects of Cordyceps sinensis are basically the same as those of wild Cordyceps sinensis. Modern medical research shows that Cordyceps sinensis is not only rich in protein (the content is 39.37%, which is 1.8, 1.5 and 1.9 times the protein content of pork, beef and mutton) and amino acids, but also contains more than 30 trace elements needed by the human body. The content of P (phosphorus) is 3.5 times that of Cordyceps sinensis, the content of Zn (zinc), Cu (copper) and Fe (iron) is 1.8, 2.1 and 8.8 times the average value of 28 tonics, and the content of Se (selenium) is equivalent to that of Astragalus. Therefore, Cordyceps sinensis has many functions such as hypnosis and sedation, liver and kidney benefit, deficiency and damage tonification, cancer prevention, anti-cancer, hemostasis, phlegm, and asthma relief. It is known as the three major tonics in the treasure house of traditional Chinese medicine together with ginseng and deer antler. Cordyceps sinensis is just an edible fungus grown alone with artificial extracts. Therefore, it does not contain other ingredients of Cordyceps, such as cordycepic acid, cordyceps polysaccharides, etc., so it does not have other effects of Cordyceps such as tonifying the kidney, protecting the liver, anti-cancer, and nourishing the lungs. Medically, it has only been proven to have certain effects in fighting tumors, and the effect is far less than that of Cordyceps sinensis. The efficacy of Cordyceps sinensis mainly depends on the size of the Cordyceps, especially the origin of the Cordyceps has the greatest impact. The Cordyceps with the best efficacy recognized by clinical medicine comes from the two top producing areas of Nagqu in Tibet and Yushu in Qinghai. Through the detailed introduction of Cordyceps sinensis in this article, we can understand the relevant functions of Cordyceps sinensis and the origin of its name. The value of Cordyceps sinensis can be easily seen from its efficacy. Cordyceps sinensis is gradually being introduced into the ranks of anti-cancer medicine, which more fully reflects the importance of Cordyceps sinensis. |
