The leaves are opposite, thin papery, ovate-rectangular, 4-9 cm long, 2-4 cm wide at the base, with short acuminate apex, earlobe-shaped heart-shaped base, rounded and inward-facing lobes, pubescent above, denser above the veins, pale below, nearly glabrous, with eyelashes on the leaf margin; 3-4 lateral veins on each side; stipules are leaf-shaped, solitary in the leaf axils; petiole is 3-5 cm long. The corymbose cymes are axillary, with 10 to 20 flowers; the calyx is hairy on the outside, with up to 20 glands at the base on the inside; the corolla is white or yellowish white, radially nearly bell-shaped; the corona is white and membranous cup-shaped. The follicle is solitary, nearly spindle-shaped, about 6.5 cm long and 1.5 cm in diameter. The seeds have white silky hairs 1 cm long on the top.
