Anesthetized dogs and cats were given 0.4-0.5g/kg of mistletoe decoction by oral gavage, or 0.1-0.25g/kg by intravenous injection, which both had antihypertensive and diuretic effects. It also had a dilating effect on the isolated rabbit ear blood vessels with cholesterol arteriosclerosis.

Antihypertensive effect

The ethanol extract of fresh leaves of Viscum yellow fruit was mixed with physiological saline to make a 10% solution, and injected intravenously into dogs and rabbits at 1 mL/kg, which could reduce their blood pressure by an average of 32% and maintain it for 3 minutes.

Treating Hepatitis

Mistletoe has a certain effect in treating hepatitis B. Mistletoe was used to treat 34 cases of HBsAg-positive hepatitis. Ten cases turned negative, and the HBsAg titers of the remaining 24 cases decreased to varying degrees.

Anti-tumor

The main components of Viscum ginkgo are proteins, polysaccharides, lipids and glycoproteins, which have direct cell inhibitory effects.
