【Original form】 Shrub, 0.3-1m high. The whole plant is hairless. Branchlets gray. Leaves opposite; petiole short, 2-5mm long; leaf blade leathery, ovate, ovate-oblong or lanceolate, 8-12cm long, 2-5cm wide, apex acuminate or long acuminate, rarely slightly obtuse, base cuneate, midrib convex on both sides, lateral veins dense, obvious or inconspicuous. Umbel, 1-4 axillary or born in the axils of fallen leaves of branches, with 2 flowers, peduncle about 4mm long, pedicel 4mm long; bracts semicircular, about 1mm long; 2 bracteoles, connate, nearly circular, 1mm long; receptacle cylindrical; epicalyx cup-shaped; corolla red, 3.2-3.5cm long, 6 lobes, lanceolate, about 1.4cm long, reflexed, blue; style linear, with joints near the base, stigma capitate. The berries are oblong, about 9mm long and 7mm in diameter, red in color, with smooth skin and a persistent beak-shaped stylopodium. The flowering period is from November to December, and the fruiting period is from December to April of the following year.
