The efficacy and function of yew

The efficacy and function of yew

Yew is a very precious first-class protected plant in my country. It has a very obvious anti-cancer effect and is recognized in the world as one of the best anti-cancer drugs in the 20th century. The main component of yew is paclitaxel, which has the effect of killing cancer cells and preventing the spread of cancer cells. So what are the effects and functions of yew?

Studies have shown that paclitaxel, an extract from yew, has an overall killing effect of up to 33% on gynecological malignancies such as ovarian cancer and breast cancer, with a total effective rate of over 60%. It is safe and non-toxic, with no side effects, and is a very safe new cancer drug.

What are the effects and functions of yew:

Yew has excellent medicinal value, and its stems, branches, leaves and roots are used as medicine. The main ingredients include paclitaxel, taxine and diterpenoid compounds. It has anti-cancer function, and is effective in inhibiting diabetes and treating heart disease. According to the appraisal of the authoritative departments and related reports, the yew trees in China have a certain content of paclitaxel in extraction, especially the northeastern yew trees with a special growth environment, which has the highest content of 0.03% (according to AGFNeto report). The unique climatic conditions are conducive to the deposition of substances in plants. If the Northeast Yew is appropriately moved southward, it can increase the growth period, improve the growth environment, facilitate the synthesis of effective ingredients in the body, and increase the content and quality.

The medicinal value of yew is mainly reflected in its extract - secondary metabolite derivative - paclitaxel. Paclitaxel was first isolated as an anti-tumor active ingredient from the bark of Taxus brevifolia. It is one of the best drugs for treating metastatic ovarian cancer and breast cancer, and also has significant therapeutic effects on lung cancer and esophageal cancer.

The effects and functions of yew not only include a strong inhibitory and killing effect on cancer cells, but also have a good therapeutic effect on nephritis edema, irregular menstruation, etc. However, yew cannot be taken directly. Once accidentally ingested, it will cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and fainting, and in severe cases may even lead to death.
