D-catechin can enhance the activity of tyrosinase, inhibit the activity of tyrosine decarboxylase, and reduce the level of adrenaline in the body, thereby playing a role in lowering blood pressure.

Antiplatelet aggregation effect: Catechins have a significant inhibitory effect on rabbit platelet aggregation induced by ADP, AA and collagen, and are concentration-dependent; catechins also significantly inhibit thrombosis in rats and reduce TXA2 content.

Hypoglycemic effect: In India, people use catechu to treat diabetes.
