Pharmacological Action

1. Protein assimilation

The insect metamorphosis steroid hormone contained in this product has a strong effect on promoting egg meat synthesis. About 2 hours after giving mice subhydroxyecdysterone, the incorporation of amino acid precursors in the mouse liver cell nucleus, mitochondria and microsomes increased. The effect was stronger at 4 hours, and its intensity of action was similar to that of 4-chlorotestosterone. At the same time, enhanced protein synthesis was also seen in the kidneys, but returned to its original level after 4 hours. Amaranthone also has a similar effect. Giving mice only 5mcg per day can produce obvious effects without any toxic reactions.

2. Anti-fertility effect

There are three kinds of extracts of this product, namely benzene extract, ethyl acetate extract and alcohol extract. It has anti-fertility and anti-implantation effects on mice.

3. Other functions

The aceasterone contained in this product has estrogenic activity. When immature rats were given 500 mg/(kg?d) for 3 days, the uterine weight increased, but the ovarian weight was not significantly affected. The fluid extract has a relaxing effect on the uterus of non-pregnant cats. But it has a strong contraction effect on the pregnant uterus.
