The efficacy and function of stinking flower grass

When it comes to flowers and plants, people may think more of common ornamental plants, but in fact, in addition to being pleasing to the eye, many plants have certain medicinal effects. The editor will introduce to you a wild plant called stinking flower grass, which is commonly found in Shenzhen, Dongguan, Guangdong, and Guangxi in my country. Let’s take a look at its effects.

Five-color plum is also known as stinking flower grass. People in Guangdong and South China call it "stinking flower grass". It grows in the grass on the roadside or riverside. Use fresh or dried stems and leaves of stinking flower grass to boil water for shower. It is best to use a large box to make a shower.

Stinkweed has the effects of relieving itching, treating scabies and clearing dampness and toxins.

Semei is an evergreen shrub, 1 to 2 meters high, and sometimes its branches grow in vine-like shapes. The stems are square, pubescent, and usually have short, barbed spines. The simple leaves are opposite, ovate or ovate-oblong, gradually pointed at the apex, rounded at the base, rough and hairy on both sides, and have a strong smell when crushed. The capitula are axillary at the upper part of the branches, each inflorescence has more than 20 flowers, the corolla tube is slender, and the top is mostly five-lobed, shaped like a plum blossom. The corolla comes in a variety of colors, including yellow, orange, pink, and crimson. The flowering period is relatively long. When planted in the open field in the south, it blooms almost all year round. In Beijing, the number of flowers in potted plants is the highest from July to August. The fruit is a spherical berry, purple-black when ripe. There are 150 species in the same genus, 2 of which are introduced for cultivation in China and several are horticultural varieties. The creeping five-color plum (L. montevidensis) is semi-vine-shaped, and the flowers are rose-red with bluish-purple. The flowers of white five-color plum (cv. Nivea) are mainly white. The flowers of Hybrida hybrida are mainly yellow.

There are two types of cauliflower, white and green. Cauliflower is mild in nature and sweet in taste. It has the effects of strengthening the kidneys and bones, nourishing the brain and marrow, strengthening the spleen and stomach, clearing the lungs and moistening the throat. It is suitable for people with congenital and acquired deficiencies, long-term illness, weak waist and knees, weak spleen and stomach, and cough and aphonia. Green cauliflower has a certain effect of clearing heat and detoxifying, and is more suitable for people with spleen deficiency, stomach heat, bad breath and thirst.

Cauliflower is not resistant to high temperatures, so do not stir-fry it for too long to prevent nutrient loss and softening, affecting the taste. It is better to blanch it in hot water for a short time and then add seasoning before eating. When processing cauliflower, first break it into small petals with your hands to keep the petals complete. The receptacle is fresh and tender and can also be eaten.

It is generally not recommended to stir-fry or stew cauliflower and cucumber together. Cucumber contains vitamin C-degrading enzymes, which can easily destroy the vitamin C in cauliflower. However, cauliflower is white in color and cucumber is green in color, so the combination of the two dishes enhances the appearance. It is best to stir-fry them separately and then mix them together and serve them on a plate.

Examples of cauliflower being used in diet therapy are as follows
