[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of Coleus scabra.

[Original form] Fleshy-leaved sheathflower, many parts of the plant are fleshy herbs, and the highest one is 30cm. Stem erect, much branched, pubescent when young. Leaves are opposite; petiole is nearly as long as leaf blade, compressed, more or less winged; leaf blade is fleshy, broadly ovate or nearly circular, 1.2-3.5cm in diameter, obtuse or rounded at apex, truncate or nearly circular at base, with margins sparsely crenate than edges, slightly purple or purple on both sides, hairy and with glandular dots. The cyme is many-flowered, arranged in a racemose panicle, up to 18cm long, with pedicels and rachis densely pubescent; bracts obovate, about 4mm long, with a small tip at the apex, and glandular pubescence and glandular dots on the outside; calyx ovate-bell shaped, about 2.5mm long, with glandular pubescence and glandular dots on the outside, enlarged to up to 8mm when fruiting, calyx teeth 5, nearly equal in length, the posterior teeth are particularly enlarged, triangular-ovate, reflexed when fruiting, and the other 4 teeth are oblong-lanceolate; corolla light or dark purple, pubescent, about 1.2cm long, upper lip 4 shallowly lobed, reflexed, lower lip entire, elongated, sunken into a boat-shaped, narrow base; stamens 4, filaments contained within, base connate or sheath-shaped, surrounding the base of the style, stigma 2 shallowly lobed; disk swollen in front. The nutlets are oval, dark brown and smooth. The flowering period is from September to October, and the fruiting period is from October to November.
