[Source] Medicinal material source: root bark and leaves of Pinus truncatula.

[Original form] A tall tree, up to 30m tall, with a chest circumference of 1m. The bark is rough, dark gray, and longitudinally cracked; the branches are spreading, and the annual branches are light reddish brown, glabrous or hairy. The leaves are linear, arranged in 2 rows on the side branches, 1.2-3 cm long, 2-4 mm wide, with rounded or obtuse tips, gradually narrowed at the base, shiny above, without stomatal lines, light green below, with 12-17 stomatal lines on each side of the midrib. The flowers are unisexual and monoecious; the cones are cylindrical, erect, 8-18cm long, light brown or light chestnut when ripe; the seed scales are nearly circular or broadly circular, broadly circular or truncated circular at the top, 2.5-3.2cm long, 2.7-3.3cm wide, with inward-curved edges, and the exposed part on the back of the scales is glabrous; the bracts are narrow in the middle, 3-lobed at the top, and the middle fissure is sharp. The seeds have broad wings, almost as long as the seed scales. The flowering period is March-April, and the seeds mature in October.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown in coastal mountains at an altitude of 400-1200m.
