2. Causes diarrhea. Hemp seed can stimulate the intestinal mucosa, increase secretion, accelerate peristalsis, and reduce water absorption by the large intestine, thus having a laxative effect. Gavage of 4 and 8g/kg Ma Ren Capsule and 4g/kg Ma Ren Pills and observation for 12 hours showed that both had a laxative effect on mice, with the former having a stronger effect; injection of 0.1ml each of Ma Ren Capsule (1:1, 1:0.5) and Ma Ren Pills (1:1) into the small intestine of toads and observation for 90 minutes showed that both had the effect of increasing intestinal contents.
