What functions does Millettia reticulata have for women?

Millettia reticulata is also a relatively common Chinese medicine. Its therapeutic effects are mainly to dredge the meridians and collaterals, promote blood circulation and replenish blood. For women, it is often used to treat irregular menstruation and chlorosis due to blood deficiency. It is very good in promoting hematopoietic function. In addition, Millettia reticulata also has a certain coagulation effect. It is also good in preventing cardiovascular diseases and lowering blood pressure. It has a certain anti-cancer effect.

1. Effect on the hematopoietic system :

According to He Shuma et al., the decoction of the dense-flowered bean vine (100%) has a blood-tonifying effect on experimental rabbit anemia, which can increase blood cells and hemoglobin. It has a stronger effect than that of Millettia odorata.

2. Effects on coagulation and fibrinolysis:

Effect on in vitro coagulation and fibrinolysis of canine blood In the experiment, dogs were anesthetized and the femoral artery was exposed. Blood was collected (the test tube was placed in ice immediately after blood collection). 1 part of anticoagulant (sodium oxalate, sodium citrate) was added to 9 parts of whole blood, and the plasma was separated by centrifugation. The plasma was divided into 3 parts, and 0.03 ml of normal saline, Danshen injection, and Millettia spatholobi injection were added to each part. Determine the recalcification time (reflecting the intrinsic coagulation process), prothrombin time, thrombin coagulation time, plasma fibrinogen quantification and globulin lysis test. It can be seen that Millettia reticulata (containing 3 mg of crude drug per 1 ml) has no obvious effect on the coagulation and fibrinolysis process of isolated dog blood.

3. Inhibit the heart and lower blood pressure

:50% Millettia spatholobi decoction showed a slight inhibitory effect on the isolated and in vivo hearts of toads. Administration of 0.43-0.5g of the herb/kg decoction to anesthetized rabbits and 0.3g of the herb/kg decoction to dogs can cause a drop in blood pressure; however, it has a constrictive effect on isolated rabbit ears and toad blood vessels.

4. Anti-cancer effect :

The in vitro test dose was 500 nanograms (hot water extract)/ml, and the inhibition rate on JTC-26 was 94.4%; in the phage method for screening anti-tumor drugs, this product had anti-phage effect.

5. Regulation of lipid metabolism:

When Japanese quail were gavaged with 6g/kg of Millettia reticulata decoction for 14 and 47 days, the HDL2-C was increased, the HDL3-C was decreased, and the HDL2-C/HDL3-C ratio was increased. This ratio is an important indicator for evaluating lipid metabolism and arteriosclerosis.
