What are the effects and functions of sea dragon?

Sea dragon is a common marine animal. It is one of the commonly used medicinal raw materials in our traditional Chinese medicine. Because sea dragons live in the sea all year round, they absorb organic matter in sea water and gradually produce new medicinal substances. Therefore, sea dragons are worthy of being used as medicinal materials. What are the effects and functions of sea dragons?

1. Anti-cancer effect.

Sea dragon extract can promote the transformation of human lymphocytes and inhibit human cancer cells, but it has no direct killing effect on human embryonic lung cells and human peripheral blood lymphocytes. Sea dragon extract can also promote the lysis of tumor cells, and the greater the drug dose, the higher the cell lysis rate.

2. Sex hormone-like effects.

The ethanol extract of sea dragon can increase the sperm count and sperm survival rate of normal male mice to varying degrees, but has no effect on the gonads and sexual organs of normal mice. It can significantly increase the sperm count, sperm survival rate and weight of gonads and sexual organs of cyclophosphamide-induced mice.

3. Anti-aging effect.

Sea dragon can increase the hypoxia tolerance of mice, reduce the level of lipoperoxides in the body, and has anti-aging activity.

4. Anti-fatigue effect.

The compound Chinese medicine preparation "Deep Sea Dragon" composed of two Chinese herbs has a significant promoting effect on the aerobic and anaerobic functions of the human body, can accelerate the recovery of fatigue after high-intensity exercise, and has a strong anti-fatigue effect.

5. Impact on the immune system.

Oral administration of 20% sea dragon glue to mice at a dose of 0.5 ml/mouse can significantly increase the weight of the thymus and the number of white blood cells in mice, but has no obvious effect on increasing the hemoglobin content in mice. The water extract of Pseudohalothias has a proliferative effect on normal human peripheral blood lymphocytes. The optimal drug dosage response is concentrated between 10-20μl/well. When the dose is increased to 40μl/well, the stimulating effect can gradually weaken.
