【Plant morphology】: Deciduous or semi-evergreen vine. Palmate compound leaves are alternate, with 5 leaflets, obovate or long obovate, 3-6 cm long, with rounded, slightly concave or mucronate apex, and entire margin. The flowers are unisexual and monoecious, with axillary racemes; the female flowers are borne on the upper part of the inflorescence, with 3 tepals, lavender, and 6 stamens; the female flowers are borne on the lower part of the inflorescence, with 3 tepals, 6 staminodes, and 6 pistils. The fruit is fleshy, oblong, rounded at both ends, and cracks along the ventral suture when ripe. The flowering period is from April to May, and the fruiting period is August.

1. To prepare the above medicine, first use one dou of water with frankincense powder, boil it in a silver pot over low heat until five liters remain. Add the seeds of the Chinese angelica and realgar, simmer it over low heat until it becomes a paste, and serve in a porcelain container. Take one teaspoon of this mixture with warm wine on an empty stomach every day, and worms as big as horsetails will come out in the stool. (Frankincense decoction from Sheng Hui Fang).
