What is the medicinal value of Hanxincao

The plant Hanxincao may be seen in some areas. Don’t think that Hanxincao is just an ordinary plant. You should know that Hanxincao, as a traditional Chinese medicine, can be used to treat many diseases. Moreover, the origin of the name of Han Xin Grass has certain historical significance, and it is related to the famous general Han Xin in history. What are the medicinal values of Hanxincao? Let me introduce it to you below.

The efficacy of Hanxin grass

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that Han Xincao is bitter and flat in nature. It has the effects of dispelling wind, promoting blood circulation, detoxifying and relieving pain. It is mainly used to treat injuries from falls, vomiting blood, coughing up blood, carbuncles, toothache, etc. "Essentials of Raw Medicinal Herbs" states: "It can treat bruises, snake bites, dispel wind and disperse blood, strengthen tendons and bones, reduce swelling, and can be soaked in wine and fried." "Quanzhou Materia Medica" says: Han Xincao "is mainly used to treat all kinds of pain caused by blood stasis, bleeding from knife wounds..." In clinical practice, Chinese medicine practitioners use it to treat bruises, vomiting blood, coughing up blood, carbuncles, furuncles and other diseases, and it can be taken internally or applied externally.

The effect of Hanxin grass

Antibacterial effect

Using the flat plate trenching method, a 50% decoction of Scutellaria barbata has an inhibitory effect on Staphylococcus aureus, Shigella flexneri, Salmonella typhi, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Escherichia coli.

Antispasmodic and expectorant effects

The safflower contained in this product has a strong anti-contraction effect on smooth muscle caused by histamine and has a good expectorant effect.

Tumor inhibitory effect

Screening experiments using the Methylene Blue tube method showed that this product had a very mild inhibitory effect on acute myeloid leukemia cells; screening experiments using the cell respirator method showed that the inhibition rate on acute myeloid leukemia blood cells was greater than 75%.

Immunomodulatory effects

The polysaccharide contained in this product can promote A-induced mouse spleen cell lymphocyte transformation in vitro, and its optimal concentration is 400r/ml. One week after administration, the percentage of esterase-positive cells in peripheral blood lymphocytes of mice was significantly increased, promoting DNCB-induced delayed-type hypersensitivity reactions. However, high-dose administration (200 mg/kg) can inhibit the thymus index of mice and has no effect on the spleen index.

In addition to the medicinal values mentioned above, Han Xincao also has other functions. For example, it can increase blood flow to the brain and reduce the resistance to blood in cerebral blood vessels. In this way, it can play a role in preventing cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. It can also allow platelets to aggregate quickly and prevent the formation of blood clots.
