[Original form] Pendant flower, also known as: white flower tree. Deciduous shrub or small tree, about 8 meters high. Young branches are covered with stellate hairs, which later become smooth. The leaves are alternate, elliptic-oblong to obovate, 5-10 cm long, 2.5-5 cm wide, cuneate or nearly rounded base, long or short pointed tip, finely serrated margin of upper half, glabrous above, initially covered with sparse stellate hairs below, which then fall off; petiole short, 1-2 mm long. Raceme with more than 10 flowers; pedicel 6-8 mm long; calyx bell-shaped, with irregular fine teeth, covered with persistent stellate hairs; corolla white, 1.5 cm long, 5-lobed, lobes lanceolate, arranged in valvate shape when in bud; style equal to corolla. The fruit is oval in shape, about 6 mm long. Flowering period is from May to June. Fruiting period is July.

[Habitat distribution] It mostly grows in mixed woods on sunny slopes in the mountains. Distributed in Henan, Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Guizhou and other places.
