[Original morphology] Twin-flowered Wedelia is a climbing herb. The stem is stout, 1-1.5 m long, about 5 mm in diameter at the base, branched, glabrous or covered with sparsely appressed short rough hairs. Leaves opposite; lower leaves with petioles up to 2-4cm long; leaf blades ovate to ovate-lanceolate, 9-25cm long including petioles, 4-11cm wide, apex acuminate, base truncated, rounded or rarely cuneate, margins regularly serrated, both surfaces appressed with short rough hairs, 3 main veins, 1 pair on both sides arising near the base, 1-2 pairs of lateral veins often in the upper and middle part of the midrib, reticulate veins usually obvious; upper leaves smaller, ovate-lanceolate or lanceolate, 5-7cm long including petioles, 2.5-3.2cm wide, base usually cuneate. The inflorescence is rare, up to 2 cm in diameter, growing in leaf axils or branch tops, sometimes in twins; the peduncle is slender, 2-(-4)-6 cm long; the involucre is semi-ovate or nearly ovate, 8-12 mm in diameter; the involucre is 2 layers, the same length as the disk or slightly longer, about 5 mm long, and covered with rough hairs on the back; the outer layer is ovate to ovate-oblong, with obtuse or slightly pointed apex, the inner layer is ovate-lanceolate, with triangular mucronate at apex; the pedicels are slightly folded, oblanceolate or obovate-oblong, with obtuse or mucronate apex, about 5-6 cm long; there is one layer of ligulate flowers, yellow, the ligule is obovate-oblong, about 8 mm long, about 4 mm wide, with 2 teeth at the apex, covered with sparse soft hairs, and the tube is nearly 3 mm long; the corolla of the tubular flowers is yellow, about 4 mm long, suddenly contracted into a thin tube at the lower part, the eaves is 5-lobed, the lobes are oblong, obtuse at the apex, and covered with sparse short hairs. Achenes are obovate, about 4mm long and 3mm wide, with 3-4 edges, pointed base, broad apex, truncated, and densely pubescent; without pappus and pappus ring. The flowering period is almost all year round.
