【Beiqi】Effects and functions of Beiqi

I believe many people know that Beiqi is a very good Chinese herbal medicine. Beiqi is also known as Huangqin. Most of our friends in southern China often call this medicine "Beiqi". The main reason is that Huangqin is produced in northern China. The main characteristics of this type of Chinese medicinal material are that the root is thick and long, the texture is cotton-like, the color is yellow-white, and the taste is light, which is the best quality. It is a panacea for replenishing qi and nourishing blood. The functions and effects of Beiqi are very common. Today, an expert will give you a detailed introduction.

Beiqi tastes sweet and has a mild nature. Its main function is to nourish blood and replenish qi. It is a traditional Chinese medicine that we often use in daily life to replenish blood and replenish qi. In addition to its excellent effect of replenishing qi and blood, Beiqi also has many other functions, covering a wide range of areas, and is suitable for gynecological, pediatric, and surgical treatments.

The role and efficacy of Beiqi

1. Strengthen the spleen and nourish blood

It is used for spleen and stomach deficiency and cold, poor appetite, loose stools, fatigue, as well as spleen deficiency diarrhea, long-term diarrhea and prolapse of the anus. Beiqi has a strong tonic effect and is good at replenishing lung qi. It can treat lung deficiency, chest tightness, shortness of breath, low voice, laziness, fatigue, and susceptibility to colds. It is often used together with Codonopsis pilosula, Scutellaria baicalensis, Chinese yam, and roasted licorice. Beiqi processed with honey has stronger tonic effect.

2. Replenishing Qi and Suppressing Sweat

Used to treat night sweats due to deficiency. Beiqi can replenish qi and blood and has an external effect, so it can replenish qi and blood, strengthen the exterior and suppress sweating. Beiqi has good effects in invigorating Qi, strengthening the body and suppressing sweat. In clinical medicine, it can be used in different combinations to treat various sweating disorders; it can be used with yang-boosting drugs to treat yang deficiency and night sweats; it can be used with qi-tonifying drugs to treat qi deficiency and spontaneous sweating; it can be used with tonic drugs to treat yin deficiency and night sweats. If both Qi and blood are deficient and the patient is affected by external cold, he or she usually cannot sweat. Adding Scutellaria baicalensis to the antipyretic drugs can stimulate Qi and blood, nourish the source of sweat, and induce sweating. The so-called "Scutellaria baicalensis can stop sweating if there is sweat, and induce sweating if there is no sweat" is this principle. It is suitable to be used raw at this time.

3. Nourishing blood and generating yang

Used to treat diseases caused by qi deficiency and depression. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the relaxation of internal organs is due to the sinking of Qi in the middle. Beiqi is good at nourishing blood and generating Yang, and can treat rectal prolapse, uterine prolapse, gastric ptosis, kidney ptosis, as well as menstrual bleeding caused by Qi deficiency and blood loss. Traditional Chinese medicine uses Buzhong Yiqi Decoction to treat various symptoms of visceral organ relaxation. The Beiqi in Buzhong Yiqi Decoction is used for its ability to replenish qi and blood, and it can raise the clear yang of the stomach and intestines. At this time, it is best to use it after making it with honey.

4. Diuresis and swelling

It is used for edema due to qi deficiency, and is often used together with Scutellaria baicalensis, Stephania tetrandra, roasted licorice or cinnamon twig and coix seed. For example, Fangji Huangqi Decoction and Fangji Fuling Decoction both contain this product. It is mostly used to treat chronic nephritis, proteinuria, end-stage diabetes, etc.

5. Drain pus from sores

It is used to treat carbuncles caused by Qi deficiency that have not broken for a long time, or carbuncles that have not healed for a long time. It is often used together with Codonopsis pilosula and cinnamon powder. This product can replenish qi and blood, strengthen the spleen and stomach, promote the early rupture of abscesses and the renewal of muscles, and has the effect of draining pus and removing toxins.

Today we will introduce the functions and effects of Beiqi in detail. For the treatment of cancer, Beiqi cannot be ignored. If patients use Beiqi during radiotherapy, they can receive more significant therapeutic effects. It can also alleviate the side effects of patients during radiotherapy and chemotherapy to a certain extent and protect the patient's normal cells.
