If there is garlic, there should be shallots. Have you ever eaten shallots? The scientific name of garlic is Allium macrostemon, also known as wild garlic. In our hometown, it is called Yezhai garlic. It is a kind of "weed" that grows in fields and among rocks in the mountains.

The young garlic has a slender appearance, like a slimmed-down garlic. Hanging from the unearthed root is a garlic bulb the size of a quail egg, which is round, white, and as clear as a pearl, and very cute. If you smell it close to your nose, it's a little spicy, but not pungent.

Garlic is also a good seasoning and can be eaten in many ways. You can use it as a seasoning by chopping garlic into fine pieces or mashing it into garlic paste, making soups, fried rice, cheesecakes, and scrambled eggs.

The effects of Xiebai are: promoting yang, dispersing nodules, promoting qi and removing stagnation. It is mainly used to treat chest pain, fullness and distension in the abdomen, diarrhea and tenesmus.

The three prescriptions containing Xiebai recorded in "Jinkui Yaolue", namely, Trichosanthes and Xiebai White Wine Decoction, Trichosanthes and Xiebai Pinellia Decoction, and Citrus aurantium, Xiebai and Cinnamon Twig Decoction, are all used to treat chest pain. Chest pain is equivalent to coronary heart disease in Western medicine. Sun Simiao believed that Xiebai was "good food for people with heart disease". It can be seen that Xiebai is a special medicine for treating coronary heart disease.

Here are two dietary recipes for using Allium macrostemon to treat angina pectoris caused by coronary heart disease: 1. Fried eggs with Allium macrostemon: 100 grams of Allium macrostemon and 3 eggs. Wash and chop the fresh leek into small pieces. Crack the eggs into a bowl, add salt, and beat with bamboo chopsticks until foamy. Heat a frying pan, add lard, pour in egg liquid when the oil is hot, sprinkle with chopped scallion, fry on the fire for 5 minutes, and fry until one side is browned. This dish is spicy and appetizing, relieves chest tightness and eliminates numbness, and can cure chest tightness and heart pain.

2. Xiebai porridge: 25 grams of Xiebai and 100 grams of polished rice. Wash the leek and glutinous rice, put them into the pot to cook porridge. After it is cooked, add oil and salt to season it and eat it. This porridge has the effects of relaxing the chest, promoting yang, promoting qi and relieving pain. It is suitable for patients with coronary heart disease, chest tightness or angina pectoris. It can also be used to treat chronic enteritis and bacillary dysentery in the elderly.
