What are the effects of buffalo horns?

Buffalo horn is actually the horn of the buffalo, a bovine animal, which contains arginine, aspartic acid, leucine and other amino acids. At present, it is mainly used to clear away heat, cool blood and detoxify. It also has certain efficacy and effects in treating headaches or rashes. Therefore, everyone should pay attention to a more scientific understanding, which will also help to better exert its health value.

Buffalo horn can be used as a substitute for rhino horn because its components are similar to those of rhino horn: 1. Sterols: both contain cholesterol; 2. Amino acids: both contain alanine, arginine, aspartic acid, cystine, leucine, proline, tyrosine, histidine, and valine; 3. Peptides: when alkaline peptides are hydrolyzed, both produce arginine, lysine, histidine, glycine, alanine, proline, valine, and leucine, but rhino horn also contains aspartic acid; 4. Guanidine derivatives: both contain arginine and guanidine; 5. Proteins: the two horns contain mostly the same content, but rhino horn also contains different proteins; 6. Using alumina chromatography, crystals with the same melting point of 215-218°C were separated, which have the effect of exciting isolated frog hearts. In addition, in addition to cholesterol, rhino horn also contains trace amounts of other sterols; buffalo horn does not contain arginine, but contains more guanidine than rhino horn. The decoction of buffalo horn was subjected to electrophoresis, and three indole-positive substances were obtained. After hydrolysis, cysteine was produced. No other special amino acids were identified. The electrophoresis of the decoction of rhino horn showed roughly the same results.
