"Compendium of Materia Medica" records: "For all symptoms of rheumatic and cold arthralgia caused by water dampness, the whole body is stiff and cannot be flexed or stretched, and the pain is unbearable. Add seven slices of pangolin and eleven fried whole scorpions to Wuji San." In the Toujing Jieluan Decoction in "Lei Zheng Zhi Cai", Paojia tablets are used together with Notopterygium and Saposhnikovia. Paojia tablets are a traditional treatment for rheumatic joint pain, and experiments have also proven that they have anti-inflammatory effects. It can be used clinically for ankylosing spondylitis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and other diseases, and can be used together with Notopterygium wilfordii, Acanthopanax cortex, Polygonum cuspidatum, etc. Since there are many traditional Chinese medicines with anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, Paojia Tablets can be used as a backup medicine and only in more suitable cases.

(III) Regarding promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis. Paojia tablets have the effect of promoting blood circulation and have anticoagulant effects. Most of the Chinese medicines in the category of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis have anticoagulant effects. We mostly choose Chinese medicines that also have immunosuppressive effects. The use of Paojia tablets and Zhiguijia together to treat chronic hepatitis and early liver cirrhosis is based on the traditional Chinese medicine differentiation of symptoms to soften hard masses and reduce swelling. For patients with positive E antigen and HBV-DNA, it is advisable to use it together with liver-soothing and qi-regulating drugs such as Bupleurum and Curcuma, or with roasted turtle shell.

Although pangolins have many benefits for the human body, pangolins are nationally protected wild animals. We need to protect it, not harm it. Its medicinal materials are also artificially cultivated, so they cannot be used except in very special circumstances.
