It blooms in the leaf sap in summer, solitary or in short racemes; the pedicels are slender, about 5 mm long; there are 5 sepals, lanceolate; there are 5 petals, yellow, slightly longer than the sepals, about 7 mm, except for the top one which is broadly obovate, the rest are obovate; there are 10 stamens, 5 long and 5 short, alternating between them. The pods are flat and slightly curved, slightly similar to lentils, hence the name, 2.5 to 6 cm long, with a short oblique tip and a long cuneate base, sometimes covered with short soft hairs; there are about 20 seeds inside. [Habitat distribution] It grows in hillside grass, fields, roadsides and under forests. Distributed in provinces and regions such as Fujian, Taiwan, Guangxi, Guangdong and Yunnan. [Cultivation] It prefers warm or cool climate and is not very demanding on soil. It can be cultivated in sandy loam or clay loam.
