[Source] It is the keratinous lining of the gizzard of the domestic duck of the Anatidae family . After killing the duck, take out the gizzard, cut it open, peel off the inner wall, wash it and dry it.

[Properties] The inner wall of the dried gizzard is in the shape of a circular disc, similar to chicken's gizzard lining but thicker, with a dark green or purple-black surface and slight wrinkles. 【Functions and indications】 Treats various bone obstructions, choking and stomach upset.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral administration: grind into powder, 0.5 to 1 qian.

[Additional prescription] ① To treat various bone-stuck problems: roast and grind duck gizzard skin, take one qian of it with water, for its digestive effect. (Compendium of Materia Medica)
